ATV & UTV Trails OPEN
Monday, May 3, 2010

UTV's owners need to register as an ATV at a DNR Service Station (Hurley Chamber). Out of State owners need to purchase a ATV trail sticker.

ATV trail stickers are available at Giovanonni's True Value &
Cary Mine Convenience in Hurley.

ATV Use of trails is year round and UTV is spring, summer and fall use only.

UTILIITY TERRAIN VEHICLE (UTV) - DEFINED FOR IRON COUNTY PARTICIPATION IN PILOT PROJECT
Width: Not to exceed 62 inches
Wheelbase: Not to exceed 94 inches
Weight: Not to exceed 1300 lbs.

Tires: 4 or more low-pressure tires

Engine size: Not to exceed 800cc

Height: Not to exceed 80 inches

Seating: side by side for a driver and passenger

Designed for off-highway use

Steering wheel

Equipped with a stock, manufacturer installed cargo box.

Brakes, brake lights, tail lights, headlamps, spark arrester, noise limits as defined in 33.33(6), (6(m))

Definition excludes go-carts, golf carts, mini-pickups, tracked vehicles, and low speed vehicles.
